PDRCap™ Enteric Matrix

The same gastro-resistant technology used in all RedoxBox formulations. The gelatin matrix with pectin polymers is designed to remain intact in the acidic environment of the stomach (pH 1–3) and dissolve in the more alkaline environment of the small intestine (pH 6+).

At pH 6+, the capsule begins to dissolve in the small intestine, where pancreatic lipases act on the triglyceride.

RedoxOil-T® is released in liquid form in the intestinal tract, where butyrate is naturally produced through microbial fermentation.

Frequently Asked Questions

TauBiotic® is formulated around a single active ingredient: a liquid butyrate triglyceride (RedoxOil-T®), delivered in a gastro-resistant softgel. The formulation is intentionally minimal and does not include added vitamins, minerals, or live microorganisms.

Sodium Butyrate and calcium butyrate are powder salts — the most common form on the market. RedoxOil-T® is a liquid butyrate triglyceride, a form in which three butyric acid molecules are bound to a glycerol molecule. This structure requires hydrolysis by pancreatic lipases to release butyrate, which occurs naturally in the small intestine. As a triglyceride, it is stable, odourless in its encapsulated form, and requires no excipients or flow agents for formulation.

Most enteric capsules on the market are hard capsules with an externally applied enteric coating, typically based on synthetic polymers such as HPMC phthalate or Eudragit. PDRCap™ is a softgel whose pectin-sorbitol matrix forms part of the capsule structure itself — it is not an added coating. Pectin is a plant-derived polysaccharide that forms a gel resistant to the gastric acid environment (pH 1–3) and dissolves progressively in the more alkaline environment of the intestine (pH 6+).

The softgel format allows RedoxOil-T® to be encapsulated in its pure liquid state, without converting it to powder or adding flow agents, anti-caking agents, or fillers. The result is a capsule whose content is 100% active ingredient. In addition, the hermetic seal of the softgel eliminates contact between the triglyceride and air, controlling the characteristic odour of free butyrate.

No. TauBiotic® does not contain live microorganisms. It is formulated with just butyrate triglyceride and does not require refrigeration or special handling associated with live cultures.

TauBiotic® is a food supplement intended for use as part of a normal diet. It can generally be taken alongside other food supplements. However, when combining multiple supplements containing other active ingredients, total daily intakes should be considered. Individuals who are pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medication, or under medical supervision should consult a healthcare professional before use.

TauBiotic® does not require refrigeration. It should be stored in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, in accordance with standard food supplement storage recommendations.
